Field of Cardiac and Pulmonary Diseases
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. In addition to our role as a county hospital, we provide highly specialized care and serve two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening with us – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero of life. We believe that honesty lasts the longest, and it is no secret that we need to grow our team. As a colleague, you will experience a lot. Tough challenges but also fantastic events, strong community, and support from colleagues and fellow human beings. To see parts of our reality, visit our photo exhibition at akademiskafotoutstallning.se.
Welcome to apply and become a part of us.
Our Operations
Welcome to our cardiac department that provides highly specialized care in arrhythmia, heart failure, and ischemia!
Our field of cardiac and pulmonary diseases includes cardiology, clinical physiology, and thoracic surgery. Cardiac care within our field is conducted in two wards. There is much development and research happening within our field that is exciting to be a part of!
On 50G, highly specialized care is provided in arrhythmia, heart failure, and ischemia. Here we also have our day care. In inpatient care, we care for, treat, examine, and investigate acutely ill heart patients around the clock. Patients come in with, for example, heart attacks, heart rhythm disturbances, and heart failure. Day care is open day/evening Mon-Fri where we have planned procedures for heart patients. This means that patients are called to the department from home and undergo their treatment or examination during the day; sometimes, they are admitted to inpatient care.
Your Mission
As a nurse with us on 50G, you are part of our wonderful team. You will have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge in nursing and work with medical technology. We have an open atmosphere and are keen to support and help each other. You will work together with nursing assistants in a care team. Our patients often require cardiac monitoring. We have a care team with a higher level of care where patients in need of non-invasive respiratory support and arterial access can be treated. You will also work in our day care.
Your Qualifications
You are welcome to work with us both as a newly graduated nurse and as a nurse with more experience.
Your Competence
We want you to be motivated and responsible in your work and to enjoy a varying pace of work. We want you to have a good ability to collaborate and wish to contribute to a good work environment. Well-being is important, and we value personal suitability highly in recruitment.
We Offer
We offer a permanent position with a start date according to agreement. When starting as a new nurse in the departments, you will receive six weeks of orientation and four days of theoretical training where you will receive instruction in relevant subjects related to cardiac care. We have specialist-trained nurses who provide clinical supervision to new employees. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be enrolled in KUÅ (Clinical Development Year), which is a hospital-wide program comprising 20% of your working hours.
Continuing education is important to us, and there is a developed introduction program with instruction.
With us, there are many paths to choose from when you feel ready for the next step. There are opportunities to rotate to another of our units within our exciting field. Additionally, we work with a lot of research and development where there is also the opportunity to find new challenges. Since education and clinical supervision are important to us, this is, of course, also a possible path to choose. Furthermore, there is the opportunity to apply for specialist training in cardiac care with a study salary.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).

Region Uppsala values the qualities that gender balance and diversity bring to the organization. Therefore, we welcome applicants of all genders and with different backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.
Region Uppsala will assign all permanent staff based on the needs of the total defense. This means that for the individual employee, there are no obligations in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.
A check against suspicion and criminal records will be conducted regarding all individuals that the employer intends to hire or engage for patient-related work, based on the possibility that they may work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or compulsory care of substance abusers, areas that are subject to optional record extracts. This applies to all who will work closely with patients, even if the tasks currently are not primarily intended to involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.
This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala's own efforts. We therefore kindly ask recruitment companies and advertisement sellers not to call us.
