Our Operations

At Akademiska sjukhuset, the area of operations in psychiatry is organized into four sections, one of which is the section for affective disorders. The section includes both inpatient care and several outpatient clinics that together are responsible for specialized psychiatric care for adults in Uppsala County. Various professionals work in teams around the patients.

Within the outpatient care section, patients with conditions such as bipolar disorder, severe depression, and complex personality and anxiety disorders are assessed and treated. The section also has a gender identity clinic and an eating disorder unit for adults. The medical team in the section consists of senior physicians, specialists, residents, and junior doctors. The collaborative climate in the medical team is positive, where discussions about individual patient cases and medical questions are welcomed. There are good opportunities for personal and professional development through stimulating meetings with both patients and their relatives, as well as with colleagues from the same and other sections, areas of operation, universities, and students. We have a positive, solution-focused clinic culture with lots of laughter and good collaboration across professional boundaries. Your Mission

As a junior doctor in affective outpatient care, you will perform standard medical duties, including patient visits for assessment and diagnosis, as well as medication follow-ups, prescription writing, and certificate writing. You will work closely with colleagues and other professionals in the team and receive regular supervision from specialist doctors, which is usually appreciated.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician with a broad and genuine interest in psychiatry. In your work, you always put the patient first. You have good communication and collaboration skills. As a person, you should be humble, responsible, curious, and meticulous. Previous experience in psychiatry is an advantage. We Offer

We offer temporary positions for 6 months with the possibility of extension. The position is full-time. Start date by agreement. A background check will be conducted before employment. You will also need to fill out a health declaration.
