Our 1800 employees work with close care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice over the phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we adapt our offerings based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.

Welcome to apply for a fixed-term full-time position as a midwife at the Youth Clinic! We are looking for someone who is interested in meeting and working with young people and who is engaged and has a deep understanding of young people's situations. This position will be located at the Youth Clinic City. The employment is limited to nine months.

The youth clinics in Uppsala County have their own coordinator who drives development work and ensures that the staff at the county's youth clinics receive professional development and are made aware of current issues.

Your assignment

The focus of the work is contraceptive counseling and prescription, STI work with contact tracing, counseling, and examination based on questions about lifestyle and body. Our perspective is salutogenic, and our strength is the team with different competencies that the Youth Clinic represents. You will also work together with the clinic's psychosocial staff to conduct outreach work, primarily towards the area's schools. Some evening work and administrative tasks are included in the position. Participation in certain research and development projects may also become relevant.

Your qualifications

You who apply are a licensed midwife with prescribing rights and preferably with experience working with young people, preferably at a youth clinic. Training in motivational interviewing, sexology, and andrology is meritorious, as is a midwife with advanced conversation training. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the operations. As a person, you should be genuinely interested in meetings with young people, want to work in a team, and be interested in operational development. You should be comfortable meeting school classes and groups. We prioritize issues of approach highly. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Our operations

The Youth Clinic in Uppsala City belongs to the administration Close Care and Health in Region Uppsala. There are a total of 11 youth clinics in the county, all aimed at young people aged 13-22 who seek help on their own. At UM City, we work with young people up to 20 years of age. The clinic in Uppsala City is located in pleasant premises centrally in Uppsala. At the clinic, midwives, social workers, and doctors work together. Together, we help young people who seek us to support good health both physically, mentally, socially, and sexually. We strive to meet each young person respectfully and knowledgeably in an accepting atmosphere. The Youth Clinic directly addresses young people and their specific needs.
