Field of Activity: Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and Pain Center
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. In addition to our role as a regional hospital, we provide highly specialized care to two million people in Central Sweden. There is always something happening with us – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero of life. We believe that honesty lasts the longest, and it is no secret that we need to grow. As a colleague with us, you will experience much. Tough challenges but also fantastic events, strong community, and support from colleagues and fellow humans. Welcome with your application and become a part of us.
Our Operations
The field of geriatrics, rehabilitation, and pain center is characterized by well-functioning interprofessional collaboration, something we are very proud of. We have specialist knowledge in rehabilitation and pain management. A significant focus is placed on research and progress, both within and outside the hospital. As an employee, you are an important part of developing and driving the operations forward.
One of our occupational therapists is on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a new colleague for one of our neuro teams at the rehabilitation medicine clinic in Ultuna. At the clinic, patients with neurological diseases, acquired brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries are assessed and treated. There is a total of seven occupational therapists in the rehabilitation medicine clinic.
Your Mission
The position involves working in one of the teams focused on individuals with neurological diseases. The largest patient group in the team consists of individuals with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist's efforts aim to assess the patient's ability to perform activities and, based on this, help the individual achieve sustainable changes for a functional and meaningful everyday life. Theory is combined with practical application within the activity areas that the patient has as goals, all to support the patient towards increased independence and improved quality of life.
The foundation of our working method is that we work person-centered in the team, to provide patients with professional care and rehabilitation. You will be one of two occupational therapists in a skilled team that supports and helps each other, where you represent the occupational therapy perspective. In meetings with patients, you often work independently but also meet patients together with other professionals. Development work is an obvious part of the operations, and supervision of students occurs regularly.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist with at least 2 years of professional experience with our patient group or previous work in neurological rehabilitation. If you have experience and interest in working in multiprofessional teams, we consider it a significant advantage.
Your Skills
You are solution-focused, accustomed to collaborating in an interdisciplinary team, and have the ability to prioritize and create structure among your various tasks. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
We Offer
We offer a full-time temporary position from January 2, 2025, to December 31, 2025, or according to agreement.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).

Region Uppsala values the qualities that gender balance and diversity bring to the operations. Therefore, we welcome applicants of all genders and with different backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.
Region Uppsala places all permanent staff based on the needs of the total defense. This means that for the individual employee, there are no obligations in peacetime, but it is solely a planning measure.
Background checks against suspicion and criminal records will be conducted for all individuals whom the employer intends to employ or engage for patient-related work based on their potential work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or compulsory care of substance abusers, areas that are subject to optional record extracts. This applies to all who will work closely with patients, even if the tasks currently are not intended to primarily involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.
This recruitment is conducted entirely by Region Uppsala. We therefore decline phone calls from recruitment companies and ad sellers.
