Are you a nurse interested in highly specialized surgical care?
Do you want to work in a department with varied tasks and the opportunity to try more than just ward work? Do you want to work in a department with a stable team of experienced colleagues? Then 70E is the workplace for you!
Our Operations
At Surgical Ward 70E, we care for patients belonging to the vascular surgery and acute surgery sections within the area of surgery and urology at Akademiska sjukhuset.
The vascular surgery section is an internationally leading unit in vascular surgical treatment and research. Our vascular patients undergo highly specialized elective and emergency surgery, including both open surgery and endovascular treatment. The vascular surgical procedures include treatment of all vascular systems in the body except for the heart and brain. The most common procedures are treatment of peripheral artery disease, aortic disease, and carotid disease. We receive patients for surgery from several hospitals in Sweden and have a collaboration with Iceland.
The acute surgical section (KAVA) cares for patients with acute conditions requiring surgical treatment. The most common diagnoses are cholecystitis, pancreatitis, appendicitis, ileus, and gastrointestinal bleeding, as well as traumas of varying degrees such as falls and bicycle accidents, knife and gunshot wounds, etc. Patients are admitted via the emergency department or as direct admissions from other hospitals.
Our inpatient ward is in newly renovated facilities designed for modern care and planned with the patient in focus. We appreciate an open and learning climate, and our goal is to offer a stimulating job where you as a nurse have the opportunity to develop professionally by working with our experienced and engaged colleagues and other professionals in the team. We have a great work environment and place great importance on well-being and job satisfaction. There is a high ceiling, and everyone is welcome.
We work with clear structure and daily routines to create security for everyone in daily work. Competence development is part of our operations, and various training is offered continuously throughout the semesters. We currently have a stable staff group where you will find colleagues who have worked between 1 year to over 20 years in our specialties. Joining a stable staff group allows you as a newcomer to develop at your own pace.
Your Mission
As a nurse in 70E, you work in a team with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, and you will gain broad competence as you meet patients of varying ages (15-100 years) with both acute and chronic conditions. You need to utilize your combined skills in nursing and medical technology in your daily work.
You lead the nursing work from a holistic perspective with the patient in focus. You have overall responsibility for nursing and are expected to prioritize and delegate tasks. You are ultimately responsible for medication management and nursing documentation.
In the clinical work as a nurse, you meet patients with a variety of diagnoses in both acute and stable care situations and handle various medical technical equipment and medications. The primary task is to plan and execute the patient's care together with the team, the patient, and relatives.
Your Qualifications
You are a trained nurse with or without previous experience. The important thing is that you have an interest in surgical patients and value working with a person-centered approach. We welcome positive, motivated individuals who enjoy working in a team.
We Offer
We can offer you a permanent position or a temporary position with a working degree according to agreement.
We also provide a thorough introduction for you as a new employee, individually tailored to your needs. Once you are comfortable, there is the opportunity to combine work on the ward with, for example, the vascular outpatient clinic, vascular research, vascular laboratory, and vascular surgery. If you are interested in research, there are also opportunities for that.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
