Work in Gislaved Municipality

As an employee in Gislaved Municipality, you are a co-creator in your workplace. You are given the opportunity and are expected to contribute to the development of the operations through your knowledge and experience. Respect for differences and the equal value of all individuals are fundamental to us.

In collaboration with the Child and Education Administration and the Social Services Administration, a school social team will be established. The school social team will be called the Presence Team, Nät. The purpose of Nät is to collaborate with the school, social services, and home to help the student improve their well-being and attendance in school through a relationship-building approach and movement/physical activity.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of school staff in the school social team, you will work with various tools aimed at strengthening students' attendance, goal achievement, and well-being in school. You will work on preventive and promotional measures at both individual and group levels, such as activities for groups of students or professional development for staff. The focus of your mission is on relationship-building interventions for the individual. You and your colleagues work together to coordinate the support that students receive, both at school, through social services, and other stakeholders. Based on the specific needs of the child/student, collaboration is a central part. You provide support in collaboration between school, family, social services, and other stakeholders.

The working hours are mostly during the day, but some evening work may occur, such as at parent meetings and working with parent groups.

Linked to the work are a principal and a unit manager from the social services open care/preventive care unit who have the ultimate responsibility for the staff in the team. The managing director of the presence team is the principal of the primary school. The principal of the primary school is the immediate supervisor of the school staff in the team, and the unit manager in the social services open care/preventive care for children and young people is the immediate supervisor of the social services professions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest and a strong commitment to working with children and young people and their networks. The school staff in the school social team should have relevant education in psychosocial work. Examples of relevant education are social work, psychology, behavioral science, human resources, sociology, social psychology, or social pedagogy. An additional requirement is that you have experience working in schools.

To succeed in the role, you need to have a good ability to build alliances and be accustomed to handling professional relationships. You can work in a structured and systematic way both in the daily operational work and with documentation.

As much of the work involves collaboration with other professionals, extra emphasis will be placed on your ability to collaborate and your personal suitability. The position places high demands on collaboration skills as it involves contact with student health teams, students, guardians, social services, and other internal and external partners. As a person, you are attentive and confident in your professional role with an ability to make correct assessments and priorities. Through your commitment and attentiveness, you build trust and relationships with various parties. It is advantageous if you have knowledge and interest in movement/physical activity such as school dogs, equine therapy, forest bathing, and/or coaching in a sport.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and that your view of employee ownership aligns with ours. The position is filled subject to the necessary decisions being made.

The position is a project employment for one year with the possibility of extension.

We conduct a register check (extract from the criminal record) as a form of suitability assessment for all those offered employment in operations where there is direct and regular contact with children and young people.

We look forward to meeting you and telling you more about Nät!

In Gislaved Municipality, full-time is a right, and therefore, vacant positions* are advertised as full-time. When the operations can accommodate part-time, it is, of course, a possibility. *positions that are shorter than 3 months and certain positions may be exempt. Gislaved Municipality has taken a position on recruitment channels and marketing before the recruitment process. We therefore strongly discourage contact with media salespeople, recruitment sites, and the like.
