JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for another support pedagogue who wants to work with us at Stomgården's short-term accommodation and supervision. The services are aimed at children and young people with various disabilities such as autism and intellectual disabilities.
As a support pedagogue, you provide everyday support to the children and your colleagues. You participate in all tasks available at the children's short-term accommodation and supervision. You work supportively and motivatingly with the child/youth, using low-arousal responses, visual support, sign language support, and clarifying pedagogy. You always work with great respect for the child's/youth's integrity, independence, participation, and influence, with the goal of achieving a good life. The work requires playfulness and imagination.
One of your most important tasks will be to:
- Meet the children where they are and communicate their needs to the workgroup by coaching and guiding colleagues in everyday work.
- Together with the workgroup, establish, implement, and follow up routines.
- In the assignment, keep social documentation where we establish, follow up, and evaluate implementation plans.
- A development task at the unit is to continue developing work with visual support, sign language support, and the physical environment's impact on the children.
You will have regular contact with guardians and other important adults for the child.
You participate in the quality development of the operations and attend various meetings, training, and supervision.
The job responsibilities require personal responsibility, flexibility, and initiative. We have high demands on collaboration skills, communication, and understanding the importance of teamwork.
You need to be secure in yourself and have the ability to remain calm and see solutions. It is required that you as staff are attentive, patient, and have the ability to interpret and read situations and handle them in a low-arousal manner. You are engaged, interested, and curious to learn more as you work.
The working hours are day/evening and night shifts as well as weekends. We coordinate with other units, and you may work at several different workplaces.
QUALIFICATIONS
You who are applying have a pedagogical university education or a completed education from the care program at the high school level or the child and leisure program with a focus on disabilities with additional training in the field, such as activation pedagogue or support pedagogue or 60 HP in the disability area.
We wish that you who are applying have experience within LSS with the target group. You should also have knowledge regarding work with challenging behaviors, clarifying pedagogy based on low-arousal responses, and work with visual support and sign language support. You have good communication skills and good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, experience in documentation, and basic computer skills. Extensive knowledge of how to establish and follow up implementation plans and experience working in LifeCare and other digital systems.
As a person, you are collaborative and thrive in social contexts. You are a role model for the children, young people, and your colleagues. You maintain good ethics and values and have integrity in your professional role. No day is the same, so you need to be able to accept and be positive about changes while coaching and guiding your colleagues to achieve the greatest possible well-being for the children. You have a playfulness and a childlike spirit and meet children and young people based on the individual's level and needs. You can lead play while also guiding and showing right from wrong. You can adapt your way of being to individuals' different needs, based on different situations with respect for differences.
You provide support in social documentation and in the establishment and evaluation of implementation plans. You ensure that working methods and approaches are used and developed effectively, but can also have difficult conversations when you see that something needs to be addressed or approached differently. As a support pedagogue, you collaborate with other support pedagogues, method developers, responsible managers, and contribute to the department's and operations' development issues.
