What You Will Work With

As a social worker/counselor, you will work with treatment individually and in groups, both physically and digitally.

You will provide advice, support, and treatment to children and young people with mild mental health issues at an early stage, such as anxiety, depression, stress, psychosomatic issues, and relationship problems. You will also provide parental support and collaborate with schools when deemed valuable. Your tasks include assessment conversations aimed at evaluating the mental well-being and functioning of children and adolescents, leading group treatments, and independent treatment work both individually and with the entire family. In your work, together with our interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate with other child and youth services within the region and municipality.

About the Workplace

The reception for Young People's Mental Health started on April 1, 2021, in Halland. Our mission is to offer children and young people, from preschool age up to 17 years, with mild to moderate mental health issues accessible, patient-safe, effective, and equitable care at the right level. We also work to support parenting and to detect, prevent, and treat mental and social health issues early.

The work is based on the perspective of the child/adolescent. For their best interest, everyone should contribute to ensuring that the operation is characterized by good treatment, competence, a holistic view, development, safety, collaboration, and participation. By working from a holistic perspective of the child's entire everyday life, we can make a significant difference with targeted interventions through, for example, conversation therapy and parental support. Our team consists of psychologists, social workers/counselors, nurses, and administrative assistants. We work together and are all keen to develop the operation from a regional perspective.

An important part of our work is collaboration with schools and social services. We value the child's and family's participation in a joint team effort focused on patient safety. We also value an open work environment where employees have the freedom to develop under their own responsibility.

We Are Looking For

We are looking for you who are a trained social worker. You possess good knowledge regarding the mental health of children and young people. Basic psychiatric competence in CBT is an advantage. We would like you to have experience in providing support and treatment to children and young people with mental health issues as well as parental support. A license as a health and medical care counselor is an advantage. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required, as well as a valid B driver's license as travel in the job occurs.
