We are looking for more colleagues who want to work in our team where you will be an assistant to our son who has the disabilities of autism, IF, and epilepsy.

We need staff for both day and evening shifts, but we are also looking for someone interested in working awake nights; the work is scheduled according to a roster on both weekdays and weekends.

In this workplace, you will find a wonderful 15-year-old boy who can give you unconditional love and affection, but he also has behavioral challenges and struggles with sensory input, where you will be his great help and security.

He needs assistance during all waking hours, with everything one normally manages on their own, including hygiene, care, medication, meal preparation, communication (visual support, sign language), social contexts, diversion to prevent meltdowns & fixation, medical visits, activities, laundry, and cleaning, among others.

You will essentially be his extended arms in his daily life.

He spends much of his days in the world of Disney, where movies are a significant part of his interests and daily life, and he also uses expressions from there in his communication; he watches and communicates with films both on iPad and DVD.

Imitating various phrases from movies is something he strongly enjoys, especially if you can mimic them by distorting your own voice to match the film as closely as possible, which is a big plus.

His feelings and daily moods often manifest through the world of films.

Stuffed animals/figures are something he loves, especially if they are Disney-related.

Once a week, he goes with assistants to a swimming activity, and attempts are also made for adapted schooling where assistants participate.

Home schooling on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays is attempted to get him to school.

As a team, we all work together with the goal of doing our utmost every day to ensure he has the best days possible and feels good.

We work daily to develop opportunities for activities and capture his interest, which can be challenging and difficult to motivate; the focus must be that everything is on his terms based on what he can handle.

He has a hard time with changes, which means it always takes time for him to connect with new people, which one must be prepared for when applying for these positions.

It is essential to be able to sense the situation, when to approach, and when to take one or more steps back.

The chemistry between you and our son is crucial for a successful match.

We as a family live in a large house where he has access to his own spacious individualized apartment/assistance residence in part of the house.

During the summer months, we as a family spend some time on the lake in our boat, which he loves, and you should be prepared to join us.

Due to the high need for support and assistance, he has been granted double staffing at all waking hours/around the clock.

We welcome both male and female applicants to our team.

You must be fluent in Swedish in both speech and writing.

A significant plus is if you have work experience or life experience regarding autism, IF, epilepsy, or other caregiving experience.

As it takes time to learn this fantastic boy's daily life & communication, we apply a longer shadowing period than usual in assistance work, all to ensure that both he and you can feel secure.

A driving license (B) is a plus.
