Job Advertisement: Case Officer in Physical Planning

Main Responsibilities

You will handle referrals regarding physical planning and national interests within the military part of total defense that concerns the Air Force's operations and areas of interest. Examples of cases that are processed include building permits, comprehensive plans, detailed plans, roads, railways, wind power, electricity grids, masts, and area protection. You will gather opinions from air force units and the Air Staff and draft the Air Force's responses in the various cases.

Your tasks also include coordinating the Air Force's need for updates to the national interest catalogs. You will participate in central preparations and network meetings with the section for physical planning at the Headquarters and be responsible for planning and conducting network meetings on physical planning within the Air Force. Your tasks also include drafting internal instructions and guidelines within physical planning. You will also, to a limited extent, support the Air Force's environmental function. You will be placed at the Infra/Environmental Section. The Air Force's environmental coordinator will be your immediate supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Approved academic degree in a relevant field (urban planner, planning architect, civil engineer in community building, or equivalent education deemed equivalent by the employer)
  • Good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and relevant parts of the Environmental Code (chapters 6 and 7)
  • A well-developed communicative ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English, as well as handle information in the form of maps and text documents
  • Good computer skills, mainly regarding the Office suite
  • Driver's license B.

You have good collaboration skills and thrive with a large degree of personal responsibility, can independently handle cases, and have a high level of integrity. DESIRABLE

  • Experience working with building permits, detailed planning, comprehensive planning, area protection, infrastructure planning, or equivalent community planning
  • Experience working with national interests
  • Experience working in the Armed Forces or another total defense authority
  • Good knowledge of the Armed Forces' work/organization/mission
  • Knowledge and experience working with GIS
  • We would like you to have an interest in defense issues and prior experience working at an authority, municipality, or county administrative board
  • Knowledge in the areas of energy conservation and waste with associated legislation.

Other

Employment form: Permanent civil employment. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

Start date: By agreement.

The Air Staff's first and largest task is to support the Air Force Chief's leadership of all squadrons and schools in the Air Force at all levels of the conflict scale. The Air Staff develops, plans, implements, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Air Force Chief. The Air Staff consists of approximately 350 employees. The Air Force organizes and trains air, base, and command units and is tasked with monitoring and protecting Sweden's airspace. It is a mission that continues around the clock, year-round, to ensure Sweden's integrity. Approximately 5,100 employees, both civilian and military, work within the Air Force.
