We are looking for a Specialist for the Support Group at the Chemistry Lab (QC-C) in Uppsala.

The chemistry laboratory is responsible for the control of the finished product as well as packaging materials and participates in several development projects. The laboratory currently employs about 60 people. The dominant analytical techniques in the laboratory are chromatography, spectroscopy, wet chemistry, and microscopy. The group includes not only Specialists but also 1st lab engineers and Coordinators. We are a team of 12 people who work closely with each other and the four analysis groups to deliver results on time.

Job Responsibilities

As a specialist, you are responsible for performing and assisting with:

• qualification of instruments
• development and validation of analytical methods
• analysis of finished pharmaceuticals
• handling of regulatory issues regarding analytical methods
• change management (CC) in the role of change leader

You plan your own work according to given priorities and timelines, where there may be short deadlines during certain periods. This requires a good ability to manage multiple ongoing activities simultaneously and make relevant prioritizations. Job responsibilities include participating in deviation investigations and establishing and maintaining the department's SOPs.

About You

As a specialist, it is important that you enjoy independently planning, driving, and being responsible for your own work. You will lead and support others, as well as have close contacts with various functions within quality control, production, and QA. Many meetings are held in groups in close collaboration with your colleagues, which requires good collaboration and communication skills. To succeed in this role, you need to be curious, goal-oriented, and structured. You possess good problem-solving and reasoning abilities and find it easy to see the bigger picture where you make correct assessments and prioritizations in parallel tasks and projects. It is also important that you are self-driven in your work, take your own initiatives, and demonstrate good judgment.

You who are applying have:

• Academic education in analytical chemistry or equivalent competence
• At least 5 years of experience in one of the listed analytical techniques
• Experience in independently initiating and driving larger tasks
• Very good ability to express yourself in English and Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Good knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel

Meritorious:

• Regulatory inspections
• Experience from GMP-regulated operations
• Experience in working with instruments
• Familiarity with the software Chromeleon
