Mercodia is seeking a dynamic Senior Scientist with a strong background in product development to join our innovative R&D team. We are looking for a scientific leader with a problem-solving mentality who can challenge our processes, drive innovative projects, and introduce new perspectives that will revolutionize our research capabilities and product development strategies.

The Senior Scientist reports to the Director of R&D. The role involves close collaboration with various departments, including production, sales, and marketing. The goal and purpose of the position are to drive innovation and improve product development processes, contributing to the company's growth and success.

Job tasks and duties, examples not limited to

• Be the scientific lead in projects and lead product development of approved initiatives from concept to production
• Contribute to the work of finding and implementing solutions to enhance product development processes
• Drive collaborations with cross-functional teams to ensure project success, as well as product quality and market relevance
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to continuously apply new knowledge for improving our offerings
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship both to customers and to junior team members

Mandatory requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience in product development of assays for commercial use. Experience as a scientific lead in cross-disciplinary project teams
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Proactive approach to challenges
• Strong leadership and project management abilities
• Advanced degree, PhD, in a relevant field (e.g., biotechnology, molecular biology)
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)

Should-have requirements:

• Knowledge of industry trends and advancements
• Experience in mentoring and providing technical guidance

Desirable experience:

• Knowledge in immunoassays or related fields
• Experience in a regulated environment (e.g. ISO13485, GLP)
• Knowledge of Swedish language

Terms

As Senior Scientist you are a part of the Research and Development team reporting to the Director R&D. This is a full-time permanent position, and your base is our headquarters in Uppsala. We have a hybrid working policy applicable in alignment with the manager and when suitable for the work tasks. Mercodia has signed a collective agreement which benefits your employment, and you are eligible to health care allowance.
