RESPONSIBILITIES

The Department of Labor Market and Adult Education operates four Competence Centers in Gothenburg with the common goal of supporting job seekers towards employment or studies.

We are now seeking a labor market consultant for the Competence Center Angered.

Our competence centers work on behalf of social services with the goal of helping individuals become self-sufficient through work or studies. Participants in the program receive support both individually and in groups through motivational and coaching conversations, study and career guidance, internships, preparatory measures, job search activities, and skill-enhancing training. You will work alongside other labor market consultants, job brokers, employment officers, and career and study counselors, as well as occupational therapists. The team consists of about 15 people. The unit has a coordinator who closely collaborates with the unit manager to lead and provide methodological guidance in daily work.

In your role, you will support and motivate participants both individually and in groups to achieve their goals. You will work closely with Social Services, the Employment Agency, our contracted services, and employers. You will initiate and conduct multi-party conversations when necessary. You are the spider in the web and responsible for your participant's journey through the Competence Centers. As a labor market consultant, you ensure that participants are offered services that meet their needs and lead to relevant progress for the individual. You will ensure that individual implementation plans are established and that these are continuously followed up and developed to best contribute to effective matching. You will provide feedback to Social Services and document in Treserva and the operational system GW Labor Market.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree equivalent to 180 credits with elements of behavioral science subjects such as social work or other equivalent education deemed suitable by the employer.
  • At least two years of work experience in change work with individuals who have complex support needs to approach self-sufficiency.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience of collaboration with financial assistance within social services.
  • Further training in conversation methodology, e.g., MI.
  • Experience documenting in the operational system Treserva and GWA.
  • Experience working with labor market initiatives.

As a person, you have a pronounced service-oriented and professional approach. You believe in people's ability and are good at motivating and creating a working alliance. You easily build trusting relationships with both participants and partners and see opportunities in meetings. You enjoy challenges, are open to new solutions, are flexible, and have drive. You are known for having a particularly good ability to work with others. You are clear and persistent.
