Warm welcome to Ryssbygymnasiet, a school with students from all over Sweden!

We are an independent upper secondary school, located by the Ryssbysjön lake, in southern Småland. The school is owned by Region Kronoberg, VIDA AB, and Rottne Industries AB. The owners are represented by a board where the school's CEO and principal/school manager lead the school's work on behalf of the board. We have approximately 60 employees and 214 students.

Programs

The school offers two programs: the Nature Management Program with profiles in Hunting & Wildlife Management, Hunting & Forestry, Forestry, Nature Tourism, and Natural Science, as well as the Restaurant & Food Program with a focus on Cooking and Service.

National Admission

We have national admission, which means that students can apply to us from all over Sweden, regardless of circumstances. Our long-distance students live in our newly built student accommodations that can house approximately 160 places.

Main Responsibilities

RyssbyGymnasiet is looking for a new employee for the leisure activities, 45.8% position.

The main task of the leisure leaders is to be close to the students after school hours, motivating and supporting them towards an active and meaningful leisure time within the framework of the boarding school activities. Since the students live at the school during the week, you will take on the role of a substitute parent with care and rules. You will plan the daily work together with other leisure leaders, but often carry out the activities independently. Our goal is for all students and their parents to feel safe and part of a community. Bullying and exclusion are prioritized issues for us. You will have experienced and engaged colleagues to assist you.

Suitable Background and Qualities.

Experience working with youth is an advantage. We place great importance on personal qualities, attitude, and approach. Since the tasks vary, it is important that you feel secure and comfortable in many different situations. Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, are a requirement. A B driver's license is also a requirement.

The leisure activities will consist of four positions. Two positions at 72.2% and two positions at 45.8%. The staff primarily works evenings and nights with sleeping on-call duty and standby at home.

Start date is 2025-08-12 with a 6-month probationary period.
