The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn receives school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to help create life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge.

SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn consists of three departments with space for 21 school-age boys; one MBB department (reception and needs assessment), one open and one locked treatment department focused on MSI (Multisystemic Institutional Care) and a primary school.

We are now looking for three secure and stable employees for awake night shifts.

As night staff, you will have a constantly awake shift. You will alternate between working on the department and patrolling throughout the institution, where you are responsible for maintaining safety and fire protection during the night while also overseeing the youth.

Other tasks may include:

  • Documentation in the journal system (KAJ)
  • Assisting with various evening routines and bedtime
  • Assisting with various morning routines and preparing breakfast
  • Cleaning on the departments

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. This training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help individuals in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and can easily build relationships with both youth and other staff members. You possess good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You collaborate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

As a treatment assistant, you should have:

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., in psychiatry, HVB operations, or care and support.
  • B driver's license
  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written

For employment as a treatment pedagogue, the following is also required:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or an equivalent degree from a university

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge and experience of NPF diagnoses

Employment:

The positions are permanent part-time positions and begin with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
