The Tandem Laboratory is a national research infrastructure at Uppsala University that uses accelerator-based methods to support Swedish and international research in various fields such as medicine, archaeology, geology, and engineering and materials science.

Our expertise is annually sought by hundreds of users from the research community, government agencies, industry, and civil society.

Job Responsibilities

The Tandem Laboratory at Uppsala University is looking for someone who wants to work on making our activities visible and thereby increasing the number of users of the laboratory's infrastructure and knowledge about the possibilities at the laboratory. This will be done through communication and information work both internally within the institution and the university, as well as externally towards the public and potential users, students, and staff.

You will design informational materials and establish and manage information channels to support both the ongoing operations within the laboratory and its ability to disseminate its results. The work also includes popularizing current research at the laboratory. A central task includes coordinating and serving as the editor for the Tandem Laboratory's website.

Qualifications

A requirement for this position is that you have a degree at the university level. A degree in a technical or natural science subject is considered an asset. Documented experience in popular science writing, preferably with a journalism education or equivalent experience, is a requirement. You have a good sense of language and can communicate in both Swedish and English at different stylistic levels and for different target groups. You have knowledge and some experience in web publishing.

Desirable/meritorious

Personal experience in research is meritorious. Experience in reading and writing scientific articles is also meritorious.

About the Position

The position is a temporary contract for 10 months. The scope is part-time/50%. Start date is June 1 or according to agreement. Location: Uppsala
