We are looking for

We are looking for someone with a great interest in acute psychiatry for a part-time position and summer work at the Emergency Department for Adult Psychiatry and the Psychiatric Acute Care Unit. The work is varied with a very broad spectrum of patient categories and psychiatric diagnoses, which means a diverse job with challenging tasks.

Our Operations

The Acute and Consultation Psychiatry Section consists of the Emergency Department for Adult Psychiatry, which operates around the clock, a Psychiatric Acute Care Unit (PAVA) with 12 beds, a follow-up team that follows up with patients via phone upon discharge from the emergency department or inpatient care, and a PAM unit. Patients come to the emergency department around the clock via self-referral/visits but also with police, ambulance, correctional services, and from other healthcare institutions.

Patients who need a shorter or longer stay are admitted to the Psychiatric Acute Care Unit. The length of stay at PAVA is about 1 - 3 days, after which patients are either discharged or transferred to a psychiatric ward if they need a longer stay. At the Emergency Department for Adult Psychiatry, no day is the same, and there are great opportunities for professional development. Your Mission

At the Emergency Department for Adult Psychiatry, you will work closely with medical secretaries, doctors, and nursing staff. The position includes work in both outpatient and inpatient care. The main tasks consist of dictation transcriptions with associated registrations, diagnosis coding, invoicing, and administration related to various types of involuntary care.

In psychiatric emergency care, we know that there can be high pressure and stressful situations at times. Therefore, we place great emphasis on providing our new employees with a good introduction tailored to their individual circumstances so that they feel secure in these situations.

The working hours for our positions are scheduled during the day and evening, as well as some weekends.

Your Qualifications

You who are applying are a trained medical secretary or in training to become a medical secretary. If you are in training, we would like you to have completed your LIA 2, have training in diagnosis classification, and have good knowledge of the Swedish written and spoken language. Knowledge of our journal system Cosmic is an advantage. Previous experience in administrative work within emergency medical care, involuntary care, or experience working as a medical secretary can also be advantageous.

You as a person are calm, stable, and controlled in pressured situations and have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective when the pace is high. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes.
