Your role

In your role as a case officer in food hygiene, your expertise is needed in several different working groups, assignments, and projects. Initially, you will be part of several working groups to facilitate for food entrepreneurs in Sweden. The working groups focus on reducing food waste and increasing understanding of imports and food hygiene.

You will participate in the work of developing guiding texts for food businesses and control authorities. Your tasks include finding new ways to communicate the agency's messages through, for example, films, webinars, and training for entrepreneurs and control authorities. You will also handle general tasks within the unit such as answering written inquiries and reviewing referrals and industry guidelines.

Together with your colleagues, you will take responsibility for the organization's common assignments and resources as well as the needs of target groups. Furthermore, you will make thoughtful priorities in your work and deliver in accordance with set goals. You will monitor the external environment to gather new perspectives, maintain relevant competence, and adapt your work to the organization's requirements and conditions.

The Food Hygiene Unit

You will be part of a group of 14 employees in the Food Hygiene Unit. The unit has an overarching responsibility for, among other things, developing guidelines to facilitate for control authorities and entrepreneurs. The unit is also responsible for developing handling measures and knowledge support regarding microbiological risks in food. The unit also coordinates Sweden's commitments for warnings about unsafe food (RASFF) and the agency's infection control work. Furthermore, the unit is responsible for the coordination, development, and management of parts of the Swedish Food Agency's communication channels, such as Kontrollwiki, Ask us, and the Training Portal.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree relevant to the position, preferably with a scientific orientation. You must have at least 3 years of current experience in food entrepreneurship, food production, or public food control. To succeed in this assignment, you need to have good knowledge of food legislation and basic hygiene legislation. If you have specific knowledge of EC Regulation 853/2004, it is an advantage. We also want you to have experience and interest in both participating in and leading assignments and projects. You must have experience in delivering good service with a positive attitude and experience in designing communicative efforts with the target group in focus.

It is an advantage if you have experience in presenting information through digital tools and channels, such as short films, training, or webinars. You must have good language skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Employment type: Permanent, Full-time. We apply a 6-month probationary period.

Location: Uppsala.

All permanent staff at the Swedish Food Agency are designated for military service within the agency.
