Environmental Economics Group

at SLU's Department of Economics is seeking a researcher to strengthen the team and contribute to a project related to the design of sustainable cities.

About the Position

This is a fixed-term position (1 year) with two main purposes. The first is to complete ongoing research related to the Formas-funded project "On the Design of Sustainable Cities: Recycling, Social Norms, and Economic Policy", and the second purpose is to contribute to undergraduate education by taking primary responsibility for courses at the undergraduate level related to methods (particularly econometrics) and environmental economics. The successful applicant is also expected to contribute to other group activities including supervising students at the undergraduate and master's levels.

Your Profile

A PhD in environmental economics or a closely related field is required, as well as deep prior knowledge of the research work described above. Documented teaching experience in economics at the undergraduate level is also necessary. The successful applicant should also demonstrate both the ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as the ability to make a positive contribution to the work in a small group.

At the Department of Economics, research and teaching are conducted in the fields of economics and business administration. The department offers master's and bachelor's programs in economics as well as a doctoral program. Priority areas within economics are 1) environment and natural resources and 2) agricultural economics.
