Your Role

In your role as an officer focusing on business support, you will facilitate for food entrepreneurs and contribute to our professional response to businesses. You will be part of the 'Ask Us' group, which is one of the Swedish Food Agency's most important forums for communicating and supporting businesses, including professionals in healthcare and the general public. Here, you will guide to the right information on the Swedish Food Agency's website and answer written and phone inquiries. Business inquiries often revolve around how to start a food business, import, drinking water regulations, food safety, and primary production. The general public's questions often concern allergies, toxicology, microbiology, and nutrition. You will administer the inquiry forum together with your colleagues.

'Ask Us' is a newly established group with four colleagues who together are responsible for both the ongoing work and the development of the function's methods. The group's role is also to be a link between the department's units and our target groups in the work of environmental monitoring, and you will collaborate closely with many colleagues at the Swedish Food Agency. You will also handle general tasks within the unit as needed.

Together with your colleagues, you will take responsibility for the organization's common mission and resources as well as the needs of target groups. Furthermore, you will make thoughtful priorities in your work and deliver in accordance with set goals. You will monitor the environment to gather new perspectives, maintain relevant competence, and adapt your work to the organization's requirements and conditions.

Unit for Food Hygiene

You are part of the 'Ask Us' function team and have 10 additional colleagues in the Unit for Food Hygiene. The unit has an overarching responsibility for, among other things, developing guidelines to facilitate for control authorities and entrepreneurs. The unit is also responsible for developing management measures and knowledge support related to microbiological risks in food. The unit also coordinates Sweden's commitments for warnings about unsafe food (RASFF) and the agency's infection control work. Furthermore, the unit is responsible for coordination, development, and management of parts of the Swedish Food Agency's communication channels such as Control Wiki, Ask Us, and the Education Portal.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a university or college education relevant to the position, preferably with a natural science focus. It is required that you have current experience of public control of food companies and/or equivalent work within food businesses. To succeed in the role, you need to have good knowledge of food legislation and basic hygiene legislation. We want you to have current experience in designing communicative efforts towards different target groups. If you are used to delivering good service with a positive attitude from, for example, a contact center or customer service, it is a merit.

If you also have experience in government work, it is a merit. It is also a merit if you have experience working with food information and dietary supplements. We would like you to have knowledge or experience in starting food businesses and knowledge of the import process. You must have good language skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

More Information about the Position
