Temporary Course Administrator

The Department of Quality Development is responsible for a large part of Uppsala University's support for quality assurance and quality development of education and research. The department is located at the university administration and comprises three units: the Unit for Career and Leadership in Academia, the Unit for Quality and Development, and the Unit for University Pedagogy.

The Unit for University Pedagogy works with pedagogical development to promote the quality of education at all levels. We work based on the pedagogical development needs of the operations and offer higher education pedagogical training for teaching staff, provide consultative support in pedagogical matters across the university's various campuses and in digital learning environments, and carry out our own development projects. The unit also handles projects and awards within Uppsala University. Together with e-learning at the Department of University-wide IT, we form a central resource at Uppsala University for the development of digital learning environments. We also jointly manage the development of, and activities in, the laboratory classroom and the recording studio in Blåsenhus.

We are now looking for a temporary course administrator, limited from 2025-06-01 to 2025-11-30.

Job Responsibilities

The course administration includes providing administrative support and service to pedagogical developers and participants (teachers at UU) in course administrative matters. Course administration includes, among other things, managing the admission of participants through the EduAdmin registration system, registering participants in Studium (Canvas), posting information in Studium, providing course information to participants, booking venues, ordering any catering, and creating course instances. The position may also include other recurring tasks within the unit. The administrative systems you will work with are primarily Studium (Canvas), EduAdmin, course evaluations, Kurt, and Proceedo.

The course administrator works closely with course leaders and other administrators in the department. Furthermore, you will maintain contact with guest lecturers and others involved in the relevant courses.

Administration and arrangements for meetings and other occasions such as consultations are also included. Other tasks may arise.

Qualifications

At least a high school diploma in an administrative field or equivalent competence combined with relevant work experience deemed equivalent by the employer. Experience working with course administration. Experience planning, implementing, and following up on various arrangements in collaboration with others, such as courses, seminars, conferences, etc. Good knowledge of Swedish and English as working languages, both spoken and written, and good computer skills are further requirements for the position.

Great importance will be placed on personal qualities such as the ability to take responsibility and work independently, structured, and service-oriented in an environment where the pace is occasionally high. We are looking for someone who is driven and enjoys close collaboration with others. The tasks also require a very good ability to communicate and collaborate with different personnel categories within the organization, both individually and in groups, e.g., university teachers, researchers, and technicians. In addition, good problem-solving and collaboration skills are required.

Desirable/Meritorious

Experience working with administration within the public sector is meritorious, particularly experience from universities/colleges. Relevant experience of the above tasks within Uppsala University is also meritorious for quickly getting into the work. Experience using Canvas/other educational platforms, Kurt, and other web tools is meritorious for the position.

About the Employment

The position is a temporary one. The extent is 50%. Start date is 2025-06-01 to 2025-11-30. Location: Uppsala
