Do you want to support the development of crime prevention work in Uppsala County?
We are looking for a driven strategist for our crime prevention assignment focusing on exit programs and children and youth in organized crime.
The Unit for Social Sustainability
The Unit for Social Sustainability coordinates assignments in areas such as violence, crime and substance abuse issues, integration, human rights, gender equality, and parenting support, among others. Some of our assignments remain stable over long periods while others emerge, change, or disappear over time.
The County Administrative Board of Uppsala County is driving a development project that we call “Prevention is Vital!”, focusing on strengthening municipalities' work with equal, safe, and good conditions for children and youth. We see that often the same underlying causes lead to many problems, and our preventive assignments are coordinated in a joint effort to strengthen protective factors and minimize risk factors. We want to provide our municipalities with comprehensive support in their preventive and promotional work. We also want to develop how we can coordinate and collaborate with other actors in the county to promote long-term and knowledge-based work. In Uppsala County, there is very good collaboration within social sustainability, including through our Council for Social Sustainability.
Job Responsibilities
Our crime prevention assignment briefly aims to support the development of knowledge- and problem-based local and regional crime prevention work, initiate, support, and develop cooperation between involved actors to prevent crime, work for increased knowledge, experience exchange, and dissemination of methods, and support and initiate cross-municipal crime prevention measures.
As a case officer focusing on strategic crime prevention work, you will be part of a working group that works with broad prevention. In this role, you have significant opportunities to independently develop and drive the assignment forward, based on the county's needs and in dialogue with colleagues at the County Administrative Board and other collaborative actors.
Your closest external partners are the county's municipalities, the Police Authority, and Region Uppsala, but you will also collaborate with civil society actors, researchers, and the business community.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a higher education in, for example, criminology, political science, sociology, public health, or other education and experience that we assess as equivalent. You have at least 5 years of experience in strategic work and coordination of assignments within prevention and the crime prevention field. You also have experience in development work within social sustainability and in leading processes and supporting collaboration between various societal actors. Additionally, you have experience in investigating, analyzing, and compiling various data in writing. The job requires that you have good knowledge of how public administration works.
It is an advantage if you have experience in development work with protective and risk factors as well as experience in planning and conducting training and conferences. Having worked with crime prevention issues in a municipality and knowledge of the county and the regional conditions within social sustainability is also advantageous.
As a person, you are self-driven and have good problem-solving analytical skills. This means you structure and drive your processes forward and work well with complex issues where you need to analyze and break down complicated problems. You have good collaboration skills and relate sensitively to others, as well as a good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. You represent the County Administrative Board in a trustworthy manner. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Conditions
The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period with immediate start according to agreement. Your job title at the authority will be case officer.
Other
