HR Generalist at Uppsala University
The HR department is part of the University Administration located in modern premises in Segerstedthuset, situated in one of Uppsala's most beautiful areas, near Uppsala Castle.
We provide advice and support on HR issues throughout the organization and work based on the areas of competence supply, employer policy and conditions, as well as a healthy working life. We also offer operational HR support and now need to strengthen our team with an additional driven HR generalist to support institutions and managers with HR expertise.

Responsibilities
Your mission is to provide broad and qualified HR support to heads/managers in various parts of the organization based on the needs of the business and an employer perspective. You will handle, investigate, coordinate, drive, and follow up on cases within the entire HR area, which often also involves contacts with other authorities. It is therefore important that you stay updated on applicable laws, regulations, ordinances, collective agreements, processes, and routines. Your tasks will also include providing advice and support on issues related to international recruitment and reception, such as employment conditions, insurance, taxes, work/residence permits, and regulations regarding these.
The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues within the administrative teams of the institutions and at the HR department, where you will be part of a team consisting of 9 HR generalists. You will also participate in various development projects within the framework of the HR function's mission. To thrive in this role, it is essential that you appreciate variation and work consultatively in close collaboration with managers.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree in the HR field, or equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You also have several years of documented experience in broad and independent HR work and in applying relevant laws and regulations. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of labor law. You have good experience in providing advice and consultative support to managers. You have excellent communication skills and can express yourself both verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English, and you have experience in training and informing larger groups. You have very good computer skills and are a frequent user of HR-related IT systems.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You have a good ability to work proactively, drive tasks forward, and adapt to changing conditions. You work in a structured and solution-focused manner and have the ability to see the bigger picture. You have excellent collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships. Since the work as an HR generalist involves handling personnel matters, a high level of integrity is also important.
Desired/meritorious
Experience in similar tasks within the university and higher education sector is meritorious. Knowledge of the specific laws and regulations applicable to public operations and experience in working with international HR issues is also meritorious.
About the employment
The employment is temporary, for 7 months. The extent is 100%. Start date is 2025-08-11 or by agreement. Place of employment: Uppsala
