Our Operations

At the Planning and Finance Function of the Medical Products Agency, we have an overarching responsibility for the governance of the authority and work closely with the heads of the operations. The function was established at the end of 2022, and we are in a period of development and build-up. Together, we work to improve and clarify the overall governance of the authority, regarding economy, operations, and quality.

The function is directly subordinate to the Director General and is led by a Planning and Finance Director. We are 20 people organized into two units with responsible managers; Financial Reporting and Planning and Follow-up. In addition, a number of employees are directly subordinate to the Planning and Finance Director.

Operational planning, follow-up, and reporting, as well as the authority's strategic planning, fall within our area of responsibility. We also work with financial reporting, procurement, and purchasing. Additionally, we are tasked with managing and developing internal governance and control, including the authority-wide management system for operational governance and the common risk management of the authority.

Your Responsibilities

As a Business Controller, you support the agency's management in ensuring and developing the authority's governance. You report directly to the Planning and Finance Director and are a natural link between the agency's management and operations. You play an important role in driving and developing the operations forward in accordance with the set goals of the assignment.

Your tasks include coordinating the work with the operational plan and follow-up, contributing to the development of processes with goals, indicators, and measures, as well as coordinating the work with the agency's annual report and providing summarizing analyses for decision-making. You support the agency's quality manager with the preparation of analyses and materials for management review. Parts of your work also involve collaboration with the Director General's staff.

Your Background

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• An academic degree deemed relevant for the position
• Several years of experience working in public administration
• Several years of experience working with internal governance, planning, and follow-up
• Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing

You may also have competencies that add breadth and complementary perspectives. It is particularly meritorious to bring the following:

• Several years of experience working with relevant tasks at a government authority
• Knowledge of state governance chains, budget processes, and regulations
• Experience working with management systems to support the development, follow-up, and assurance of quality in operations
• Experience in supporting management
• Experience in change management
