Welcome to Växjö Municipality!

We are now looking for you who want to make a difference for those we serve! Växjö Municipality is Kronoberg's largest employer, working every day, all year round, for our residents, businesses, and visitors. Together, we create a sustainable tomorrow and an attractive municipality to live, work, and thrive in – today and in the future. This means a job where we challenge ourselves to think innovatively, learn, and develop with each other. Do you want to be part of a larger context where you can truly make a difference? Welcome to us at Växjö Municipality!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This autumn, we will open a new group home on Evedalsvägen with fantastic facilities and a lovely outdoor environment. The premises are carefully designed to give you, as staff, the best possible conditions to provide good care. The residence and its surrounding environment are designed to provide calm where needed and stimulate activity where desirable. At the same time, we can meet all the requirements of a modern working environment. The outdoor environment of the residence will blend with the forest environment adjacent to the property. In the scenic nearby area, there are plenty of walking paths where care recipients and staff can move in nature without the influence of heavy traffic, buildings, and crowds.

The operation will be conducted around the clock, where care recipients, in their home environment, always have staff close at hand with individually tailored service. The purpose of the LSS initiative group home is to promote equality in living conditions and participation in community life for those covered by the law. The goal is for the individual to have the opportunity to live like others. In our daily work, this means that we work based on the individual’s implementation plan to support the care recipient in all the moments needed for everyday life to function. This can involve supporting with cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, and leisure activities. The support is individually tailored, and depending on the person’s abilities and daily condition, the staff's tasks may vary. Sometimes staff need to perform tasks largely, while at other times the work focuses more on verbal support and pedagogical assistance.

In addition to the residential operation, we will conduct daily activities that are integrated into the living environment, where tasks are individually tailored according to the needs, abilities, and interests of the individual care recipients. The purpose of the LSS initiative daily activities is to offer the individual meaningful engagement, contribute to personal development, and promote participation in society.

We will work with low-arousal responses, structure, and warmth to ensure that care recipients are guaranteed good living conditions. Important tools in the work will be implementation plans, response plans, and documentation. The working methods will be based on knowledge and experience to provide care recipients with safe and equitable care.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who sees the importance of working equitably towards care recipients and has a genuine interest in constantly developing work methods to provide the best possible care and response for those we serve. We see that you need to be very collaborative with good communication skills, humility, and a lack of pretension. In other words: a true team player!

Since we will conduct integrated daily activities, you as staff need to be particularly creative and innovative when it comes to understanding the individual motivations of care recipients and being able to design stimulating and meaningful tasks based on that.

Previous experience working with intellectual disabilities and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities is considered an asset, as well as experience working with challenging behavior.

You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We make many trips, both within the framework of daily activities and on the care recipients' leisure time. Therefore, the position requires a B driver's license.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

To be considered for the positions, a recognized education from the health and care program, child and leisure program, nursing education with further training, caregiver education, child caregiver with at least two years of education, or other education that we consider suitable for the operation, e.g., behavioral science or pedagogical education at the university level of at least 120 credits is required.

To be considered for employment, you need to present an extract from the police criminal record for verification of your own information in the criminal record/individual (442.3) according to § 9, 1st paragraph. Ordering an extract from the criminal record can be done at polisen.se (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/).
