Violin and Viola Teacher Wanted at the Cultural School in Norrköping
Do you want to inspire and guide our string and orchestra students in their artistic development? Then you are the one we are looking for!
Who are we?
The Cultural School in Norrköping is looking for two string teachers with violin or viola as their main instrument for a permanent full-time position. We are a creative and pleasant workplace with a wide range of courses in art, dance, theater, film, and music for children and young people in their free time.
Here you will have the opportunity to be part of an engaged teaching staff that is passionate about promoting creativity and artistic expression. We have a well-developed ensemble, orchestra, and choir activities and annually offer a large selection of concerts and performances.
We collaborate with primary schools, youth centers, and other stakeholders to reach many children and youth. The courses in string instruments and orchestra are conducted centrally at the Cultural School and at the municipality's primary schools in facilities adapted for the activities. We also have a close collaboration with the local cultural scene to create an inspiring learning environment.
Your Responsibilities
As a string teacher at the Cultural School, you will work to inspire and guide children and young people aged 6 - 25 in their artistic development.
You will teach violin and/or viola and orchestra. You will plan and conduct lessons and create a creative and stimulating learning environment. You will collaborate with other educators and staff to develop and implement teaching that engages and challenges our students.
You see and use the orchestra and group as central tools in teaching and are curious about developing new teaching methods and approaches.
Teaching is mainly scheduled for afternoons and evenings and takes place both individually and in groups. Weekend work may also occur.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is creative and enthusiastic with the ability to inspire and develop individuals, both individually and in groups.
You have a teaching degree from a music academy or equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent and have experience in pedagogical work with children and youth as well as good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
We would like you to have experience teaching the Suzuki method, larger groups, and younger ages. If you have experience in conducting and long-term artistic pedagogical repertoire planning for orchestras, we see that as a plus.
You possess good pedagogical skills where you adapt your communication according to the individual in front of you.
Furthermore, we see that you are attentive in your interactions, developing positive relationships with both students and colleagues. In collaboration with others, you contribute with a positive attitude and actively share knowledge and information with the team to achieve common goals.
The work environment is dynamic, and we see that you can handle changes that may occur during the workday. You remain flexible and prioritize when needs arise.
Welcome with your application!
