Teaching Position Available at Vreta Kloster School

Your Responsibilities

Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher, you view the entire school day of the student as important, and therefore you collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this, the school's and after-school care's activities cooperate to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

This position is temporary until December 19, 2025, and involves teaching mathematics, Swedish, English, social studies, natural sciences, and technology in the lower grades. The position also includes mentorship and possibly teaching music.

Your Workplace

Vreta Kloster School is beautifully located between Vreta Kloster Church and the Göta Canal near Berg's locks. There are good commuting opportunities here as bus connections are excellent. The school has just over 370 students in grades F-6 and in our five after-school care departments. Our outdoor environment is fantastic with a large schoolyard where we have space for teaching, play, sports, and other outdoor activities. We also often utilize our local area.

The school operates based on a multi-teacher system with cooperative teaching methods, where a strong focus is placed on the process and design of lessons to create curiosity, engagement, and joy. Currently, we have 56 employees in the organization, and we have a good atmosphere in the staff group and enjoy working together. We feel that we have an educational, safe, and pleasant school where we work inclusively, collegially, and support each other. We have a well-functioning collaboration between school, after-school care, and home to create the best possible conditions for our students.

At Vreta Kloster School, we actively work with safety, motivation, and knowledge progression, and this year we focus on leadership and community. As a teacher with us, you will be part of a work team that plans, implements, and evaluates teaching together. The school has a well-developed systematic analysis and quality work where you, together with your colleagues, work to develop teaching and methods. The management team drives the school and school development together with several different driving groups. We are also a training school.

Who We Are Looking For

First and foremost, we are looking for someone who has a teaching license with qualifications to teach mathematics, natural sciences, and technology in grades F-3. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades F-3. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher for grades F-3. It is an advantage if you have qualifications to teach more subjects based on the needs of the organization or in the entire grades F-6.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is an advantage if you have taught in grades 1-6 for at least one school year.

In your role as a teacher in grades 1-6, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in grades 1-6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that are part of your professional role.
