One of the Army Staff's focus areas is to build the new army. An army that focuses on capability in the field and in this builds new as well as restructuring existing units. The Army Staff develops and leads the production of the army's war units as well as subordinate units and schools.

The Position Offers
As a staff officer at the Army Staff's Communication and Command Support Systems Section, you will work on many different issues within the function. Everything from operational leadership of ongoing operations nationally and internationally, to planning operations and exercises as well as defense planning at both tactical and operational levels.
About the Unit
The Communication and Command Support Systems Section is a section within the Army Staff's Implementation Department that works broadly across all Army Staff processes and time perspectives. In everything from implementation, planning, and development of new capabilities and services.
As part of both leadership, planning, and development of the Army's command support systems, the section is also responsible for Signal Protection in the Army, information management, frequency coordination, information systems service, and functional management of the Army's network operations within the framework of the mobile core network and other transmissions such as shortwave communication. The section is also responsible for leading the Army's communication preparations for larger exercises and operations, both nationally and internationally.
The section also participates from a functional perspective in defense planning, such as drafting operational plans and standing orders for operations. The section supports but also drives its own development issues. Both within the framework of Army Organization 25, but also within the framework of Interoperability, primarily cooperation within the Nordic countries and NATO integration.
The section is also part of the function at the operational level and participates weekly in various preparations with the Operational Staff J6.
Main Responsibilities
As a staff officer at the Army Staff's Communication and Command Support Systems Section, your main responsibilities will be to plan and lead the use of the Army's command support systems. In everything from various communication services to information systems services. There will be opportunities to both broaden your competence or deepen already acquired knowledge in the field of command systems.
Depending on previously acquired competence within the function and frequency area, you will initially undertake a number of courses in the area.
Qualifications
- Trained professional officer (OF, OR)
- Knowledge in the field of command support systems in general
- Driving license B
Desirable
- Knowledge of ground command support systems (LSS Mark)
- Practical experience in leading command support systems at the tactical level, brigade or military region
- Experience in staff work within the field of communication and command support systems
- Good presentation skills and proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Trained signal protection teacher/signal protection chief
- Technical competence in the field of command systems is desirable
- Experience from the command process at operational units is highly meritorious
Personal Attributes
Great emphasis is placed on personal attributes. We see that you have the ability to independently drive project-like activities and work. You should be able to independently plan and organize your work based on the section's overall tasks. Be able to independently participate in various preparations within the Army Staff from a functional perspective.
