Åbyskolan in Lagan is located in Ljungby municipality and accommodates students from preschool to grade 9. The school is set in a picturesque environment with close proximity to nature. A large sports hall and artificial grass field are directly adjacent to the school, providing excellent conditions for teaching physical education and health. At Åbyskolan, we want everyone to feel safe, have a positive outlook on the future, and acquire and develop knowledge for life. We have qualified staff and together we aim to create an environment where everyone feels joy, motivation, and engagement at work.

The school is adapted to different age groups, with a cafeteria for the upper grades and a lounge area for socializing and activities such as table tennis and board games. All students in grades 7-9 have one-to-one computers, and much of the teaching is conducted using digital learning materials. Åbyskolan has well-functioning teams and is a school with good order and structure.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a teacher to teach the school’s natural science subjects for grades 6-9. In your role as a teacher, you will plan and conduct your own teaching. Mentorship for grades 7-9 may be included in the position. As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, leading, developing, and conducting the educational activities and creating conditions to work towards the goals in the governing documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

We want you to be a certified teacher with an approved teaching degree for grades 6-9 or have other educational qualifications that the employer deems equivalent. We expect you to have high ambitions and a desire to create the best conditions for students' development and learning.

We see that you have the ability to collaborate well with a solution-focused approach in a team where high expectations and collegial learning are central. You should be able to take responsibility for your tasks, see opportunities in changes, listen and communicate constructively, value differences, and place great importance on working towards the school's mission and goals. This means that together with other educators, you will lead, organize, and structure the work to create a safe learning environment. We also place great emphasis on personal suitability.
