Your Responsibilities

The starting point for you as a teacher in after-school care is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher in after-school care, you view the entire school day of the student as important and therefore collaborate with both guardians and colleagues around the student. As part of this, the after-school care and school activities collaborate to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

In your role as a teacher in after-school care, you are responsible for one of our after-school care departments. This means that you are responsible for ensuring that the department plans its activities according to the curriculum and the school's and after-school care's annual cycle, participates in meetings with other department heads, and supports colleagues in planning and participation. Together, you collaborate for equity and a shared understanding of approaches and responses. Here you get the chance to exchange ideas, participate in pedagogical discussions, and learn from each other. Your Workplace

Fridtunaskolan is located by Ebbepark in central Linköping, close to a fantastic outdoor environment in Vallaskogen. Our school consists of a new building and the rest is newly renovated. The school is within walking distance to libraries, theaters, swimming pools, and concert halls. About 580 students from preschool to grade 6 attend here. Fridtunaskolan is characterized by safety, respect, and mutual trust. We work for a good study environment with engaged and motivated staff. The after-school care at Fridtunaskolan is divided by grade, with about 85 students in each department. Here you become part of a large school with clear structures while also working in the smaller context of the department. The after-school care at Fridtunaskolan is strong in its development work and has good opportunities for collaboration with both the work team and other teachers at the school.

Who You Are

First and foremost, we are looking for someone with a teaching license with qualifications in after-school care. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a degree or completed education as a teacher in after-school care. Alternatively, you may be at the end of your education to become a teacher in after-school care. It is advantageous if you have qualifications to teach music and art.

It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in curriculum-based after-school care, either through internships or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have worked as a teacher in after-school care for at least one school year.

In your role as a teacher in after-school care, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you can organize and carry out the work in accordance with the curriculum (Lgr22) to support the student's language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in after-school care, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other community contacts that occur in your professional role.
