IT Technician for Security Operations Center (SOC)

The Security Operations Center (SOC) with 6 employees is part of the Cybersecurity unit, which works together to protect the IT environments of Försäkringskassan and other authorities. The unit handles everything from regulations and solution architecture to advanced incident management and threat analysis. The close collaboration within the team gives you a unique overall view of cybersecurity work and the opportunity to grow in your role.

To meet an increased demand, we are now strengthening our SOC team and looking for a new employee who wants to contribute to the work of protecting and developing our IT security.

Cybersecurity, Incident Management, Security Threats, and Environmental Monitoring

In the role of IT technician at SOC, you will work on analyzing security threats, identifying vulnerabilities, and investigating cybersecurity incidents. You will use your experience in log analysis to monitor networks, servers, and Windows clients, and to detect anomalies that may indicate threats. In more complex incidents, you will take a leading role in the investigations and ensure that actions are carried out effectively.

An important part of the role is to continuously monitor and analyze current security threats in the environment. You will assess how these threats may affect Försäkringskassan's and other authorities' IT environments and implement preventive measures. With your knowledge of security in Linux and Windows environments, you will help strengthen our ability to manage and prevent threats.

You will also work on adapting and optimizing our SIEM solutions to improve detection and analysis of incidents. The role includes developing scripts, for example in Bash or Python, to streamline work and enhance automation.

The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you have a high security awareness to work with us.

We are looking for someone who

• has a university degree or equivalent experience and qualifications
• has experience in log analysis within networks, servers, or Windows clients
• has good knowledge of security for Linux or Windows
• acts on their own initiative and takes responsibility for achieving good results
• collaborates effectively with others to achieve common goals
• has good communication skills, both spoken and written
• has a systematic and meticulous working style
• can understand and analyze complex issues
• has good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you

• have good knowledge of PC clients with Microsoft Windows
• have experience working with Microsoft Active Directory
• have good knowledge of network security
• have experience writing shell scripts, e.g., Bash, Python
• have experience working with incident management
• have experience working with SIEM solutions and adjusting them as needed
• have experience operating and maintaining IT systems, e.g., tools and systems related to the daily operations of the SOC
• have experience applying security frameworks such as ISO-27001, ISO-27002, or equivalent.
