Your Responsibilities

Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher, you view the entire school day of the student as important, and therefore you collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this, the school's and after-school care's activities collaborate to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of various professions.

This position involves teaching mathematics and all science subjects in grades 4-6.

Your Workplace

Nya Rydsskolan is a K-6 school with an attached after-school care and is located in the Ryd district, close to both an activity park, Old Linköping, and Rydsskogen. About 50 employees work at the school to prepare approximately 230 students for the future. In grades K-3, there are two classes per grade distributed among three teachers and one after-school staff. In grades 4-6, there is currently one class per grade. Since the classes are larger in grades 4-6, we use co-teaching as much as possible to meet the students' needs in each subject.

We work language- and knowledge-developing in all subjects and see multilingualism as a resource. Furthermore, we have good structures for collaboration and collegial work both through grade teams with teaching teachers and associated after-school staff, but also through our three work teams; K-3, 4-6, and After-School Care. The school also has a well-developed student health service with a counselor and special educational competence, where the school nurse has a defined role in the compensatory student health mission.

Who We Are Looking For

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license with authorization to teach grades 4-6 in Mathematics and Science. Alternatively, we are looking for someone who has completed teacher training for grades 4-6. You may also be at the end of your teacher training for grades 4-6.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is an advantage if you have taught in grades 4-6 for at least one school year. It is also advantageous if you have experience in grading or documenting students' learning during the school year.

In your role as a teacher in grades 4-6, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is to ensure that, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you organize and implement the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in grades 4-6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that are part of your professional role.
