About the role

You will work in a team together with physiotherapists, nurses, and care staff, and your task is to provide quality of life. You see each individual and have the ability to understand what each person needs.

In the role of occupational therapist, you will work with residents to find the best ways to use their own abilities in daily life. You support and motivate individuals to develop and maintain their physical, cognitive, and social abilities. This often involves making assessments and adapting the daily environment. You will also trial and prescribe physical and cognitive aids. You will guide your colleagues in rehabilitative efforts, approaches, transfer techniques, etc. You will often have contact with the residents' relatives. At Polhemsgården, the occupational therapist is also part of the dementia team, together with physiotherapists, Silvia sisters, and Silvia nurses.

About Polhemsgården

Polhemsgården in Solna consists of 80 apartments with a dementia focus and the day activity center Lyktan. Polhemsgården has nature and garden as its profile. Outdoor activities and activities in nature, parks, and gardens are natural parts of our daily life. We work based on different nature themes throughout the year.

  • Dementia certification: We are a dementia-certified residence, which means that all of us who work here are trained in dementia and approach through Silviahemmet and the dementia academy.
  • Young Care: We have a collaboration with the company Young Care. This means that a team of young people aged 14–18 visits us on weekends and holidays. Young Care engages in various activities with us who work here, to enhance the quality of life for the residents.

Your experience and knowledge

  • are independent, can make your own assessments and decisions, and dare to think for yourself.
  • have a pedagogical approach and enjoy working in a team as well as supporting colleagues

You are a licensed occupational therapist, and we prefer that you have several years of experience in elderly care. You have good computer skills and experience in documentation. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing is a requirement.
