Description

We are looking for a skilled teacher in natural science for the academic year 2025/26.

The position is primarily a fixed-term employment for one school year (August to August), but if you have a good subject combination and a permanent position today, this may be discussed.

Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with both colleagues and students are important. At Tumba High School, we give significant influence to the work teams, and it is essential that you enjoy collaborating and developing collegially. Tumba High School is one of the region's more well-functioning and high-performing high schools, and we are looking for someone who appreciates give and take as you develop your professional skills together with us at the school.

Our students are generally driven (with high admission scores), and over 96 percent of students graduate from high school. You will work closely with skilled colleagues, and together you will have the opportunity to plan much of the teaching. Responsibilities

You will belong to a work team and act as a mentor and co-creator in subject and team development. You will normally be responsible for a total of 6 courses worth 100 points each during one school year (about 16 hours of teaching per week) and have plenty of time to develop as a teacher in a school that always places collegiality at the center.

Qualifications

You have a high school teacher's license in the subject of natural science. You should have high communicative and linguistic competence in your dialogue with students and colleagues; your skills facilitate students' learning and language development. You should enjoy working with people and be a team player who thrives with others. Tumba receives students from about 20 municipalities, mostly from the Stockholm area, and virtually all come to us with high ambitions but different educational backgrounds. We work purposefully to develop them all for the future.

Experience working as a teacher is a plus, as are good skills regarding ICT. We work in a Google environment and positively with knowledge of digitalization in teaching; knowledge of AI is also a plus. If you have advanced knowledge in computer and communication technology, that is also an advantage. Of course, we also welcome applicants directly from teacher training, provided you have the right profile and education.

HÖK. We conduct interviews continuously, so please be early with your application. Permanent employment may be offered to licensed teachers with good references; otherwise, fixed-term employment for one school year will apply. The employment begins on August 12, 2025.
