Nature School Educator at the Nature School in Upplands Väsby

About us

The Nature School is a resource for all primary schools in the municipality. We meet school classes from preschool to grade 9 outdoors in all weather. A large part of our activities take place in Sättra Nature Reserve where we also have the cottage Skeppartorp and can be indoors sometimes.

We conduct theme-based outdoor education primarily about nature, environment, and outdoor life and aim to ensure that children and young people feel safe and joyful in nature! Through practical exercises, we aim to spark interest in nature and the environment and contribute to lifelong learning and engagement for sustainable development.

About the position

As a nature school educator, you will be responsible for planning and implementing nature school days. You will conduct these either independently or together with your colleagues. In this role, you will meet new student groups every day. Together with your colleagues, you will plan and shape the offerings of the organization, including themes. The job requires good physical fitness as we move a lot in terrain. Since the work takes place in various natural areas around Upplands Väsby municipality, having access to a car is advantageous.

The position is a parental leave substitute from August 18, 2025, to June 12, 2026.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Post-secondary education in areas such as biology, ecology, nature conservation, pedagogy, or other equivalent education
• Experience in pedagogical work with children and youth
• Good knowledge of Swedish
• Driver's license (B)

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in outdoor pedagogy and/or interdisciplinary teaching
• Experience leading groups in nature
• Experience working with teacher professional development
• Good knowledge of species
• Knowledge, interest, and experience in gardening and gardening projects
