Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.

You will work independently and proactively with follow-up and reporting related to the school's finances. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the school's payroll process and HR. Together with colleagues within the school and the regional administration, you will continuously seek new ways to improve flows, working methods, and processes. The focus of the development should be to benefit the school's quality with the student in focus. For the right candidate, we hope you will become part of the school's management team.

We offer you an opportunity to join a company that runs the fourth largest primary school operation in Sweden, characterized by an international environment with high engagement where the English language is a common denominator. As an economist, you will work closely with the school's principal and network with other economists at the country's approximately 45 schools. You will also receive support from the finance department at the head office. Together, you will help influence and contribute to the financial processes functioning well and constantly improving.

Your future tasks:

Finance

  • monthly reconciliations of school funding and contact with municipalities, as well as annual audits
  • ongoing bookkeeping
  • assist the principal in budget work for the upcoming fiscal year
  • decide on purchases and budget follow-up
  • monthly reporting as well as cost follow-up and analysis of deviations
  • check and code supplier invoices in Rillion
  • development of processes both internally at the school and towards the school's stakeholders
  • projects for reduced costs and/or increased revenues

Payroll

  • Control time reporting in Medvind
  • Control payroll costs in relation to the number of employees
  • Control preliminary payroll runs
  • Main contact for the school with the payroll department at HQ

HR

  • Recruitment and employment contracts
  • Administer onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Contact with the Social Insurance Agency and occupational health services regarding sick leave and rehabilitation, support or conduct health talks as needed
  • Together with the principal, conduct proactive and reactive HR work based on needs, labor law, and work environment

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

We believe that you who are applying for the role have a high school or post-secondary education in finance and/or payroll, or have acquired equivalent competence in professional life. You have at least a couple of years of experience from similar work where great importance is placed on a process-oriented and proactive working method as well as leadership qualities.

You communicate well, both in Swedish and English, have high social skills, and enjoy many points of contact.

As a person, you are driven, curious, and structured. If you have experience from the school world, that is a plus.
