The Social Administration Nordost works to provide residents in northeastern Gothenburg with equal and effective welfare, enabling them to live safe and independent lives. The administration supports individuals and families according to the Social Services Act. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

One of our social workers is moving on to test new tasks, and we are now looking for a new colleague. The unit is located at the office near Kortedala Torg. The main task is to investigate the right to assistance and work together with the individual all the way to self-sufficiency.

We are looking for someone who has an interest in client work and wants to make a difference for those in need of social services. By investigating and following up, we believe we can achieve good results for the individual. Our goal is for clients to reach self-sufficiency as quickly as possible, and in the meantime, we assess the right to financial assistance. You need to be a thorough investigator and able to make both positive and negative decisions. You enjoy a client-centered approach.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and previous experience in administrative work. It is an advantage if you have experience in the area of financial support and/or experience working or interning in Nordost.

In the role of social worker, it is important that you are a secure and stable person. You remain calm in difficult situations, distinguish between the issue and the person, and can make well-founded decisions under time pressure. You are empathetic and have the ability to meet people who often live in vulnerable environments and face difficult life situations.

Furthermore, you are open and accessible while being able to convey structure and direction in your client work. Being a good listener and communicator is essential for creating innovative dialogue with those we are here for, in order to find the best solutions. You have a flexible mindset and the ability to prioritize your tasks during the workday as urgent situations may arise. For you, it is a given to contribute to the organization's goals, and you enjoy following up on your and the organization's goals monthly. You have an interest in working in a multicultural urban area.
