Job Description

The positions include working as a teacher in both college preparatory and vocational programs.

You will be part of working groups and subject teams in the subjects you teach. You will perform mentoring tasks. The position may also involve teaching within the framework of the school's study sessions, handling assessments, and possibly re-examinations and other tasks commonly associated with the profession. The positions are for the school year 25-26 with possible extensions.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed upper secondary school teacher in one or more of the subjects mathematics, physics, and English. Additionally, another subject, such as Spanish, is preferred. We place special emphasis on the ability to build constructive relationships with students in a way that promotes learning. Didactic knowledge and functional leadership in the classroom are central qualities we are looking for. An interest in collegial learning both in subject and working groups is also important as the upper secondary school faces changes, including those related to the subject grading reform.

Stiernhööksgymnasiet is beautifully located by the shores of Lake Siljan and is a secondary school with approximately 500 students. It is a unique secondary school with proud traditions and a student body from all over Sweden. The school has a documented high goal achievement with very good educational quality. The school offers programs in construction and civil engineering, economics, electrical and energy programs, natural resource programs (with specializations in animal care, equestrian studies, and agriculture), natural science programs, social science programs, as well as four introductory programs. The school also offers adapted national programs in forestry, land, and animals, as well as property, construction, and building. Additionally, the school provides national sports education (NIU) in equestrian sports and bandy, as well as local sports education (LIU) in various sports. The school has a student dormitory with over 130 accommodation places, as well as food production within the framework of agricultural education. Parts of the production are served in the municipality's kitchens. Thus, Rättvik has Sweden's most locally produced school meals.
