Nordanö School is located adjacent to a residential area just outside Avesta. The school has about 46 students in grades K-3. Nordanö School is part of the Fors/Nordanö principal area and there is some collaboration between the two after-school programs.

We are now looking for a positive and engaged colleague to join our staff at Nordanö School. Are you the one we are looking for to our after-school program?

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities consist of pedagogical work in a group of children at the after-school program where you plan, implement, and evaluate the teaching both independently and together with colleagues. In the after-school program, you will help develop the pedagogical work in the student group based on applicable governing documents.

You work to support the children's development during different parts of their school day. During the school day, you are responsible for activities during breaks and you are an important adult on the schoolyard. You are also present in the classroom as a resource or as support for individual students. You strive to create an environment where all students can succeed based on their conditions.

Creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians is also part of the job.

You will be responsible for opening and closing the after-school program according to the schedule. Currently, the after-school program is open from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM. It is not possible to opt out of openings or closings, as this is part of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher in after-school programs or a trained leisure educator. You have a good understanding that people absorb knowledge in different ways and that everyone has different conditions for this, and you meet the students according to their needs.

You are a flexible educator who understands the importance of seeing the school as a whole. You have an understanding of the changes that can occur in the school's everyday life. You see opportunities and take initiatives that benefit the students and the organization. Since the job often consists of active participation in the activities that are organized, you should be in good physical shape.

You enjoy collaborating with others and care about maintaining good contact with students, colleagues, and guardians. You demonstrate this by listening, communicating, and resolving any conflicts in a constructive manner. For this position, you need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

As a person, you are secure and stable, and you can work independently when needed. Previous experience working in after-school programs or teaching in primary and middle school is an advantage.

If you have experience working with type 1 diabetes, medication, and carbohydrate calculation, that is a positive aspect.

In order to be responsible for openings and closings, you need to be able to get to the workplace without relying on public transport; therefore, a driver's license and access to a car are required.

If a qualified applicant is not found, another applicant with relevant education and/or experience may be hired for a limited period.
