Komvux is the adult education's own educational provider in Borlänge municipality. At Komvux, we have about 65 employees and approximately 750 students in studies at any given time. Teaching is conducted in Swedish for immigrants (SFI) as well as courses at basic and upper secondary levels. Vocational training is also offered.

The overarching goal for adult education in Borlänge is to work towards getting more residents of Borlänge into self-sufficiency. This can happen in various ways, either by offering supplementary studies for a high school diploma/eligibility for vocational college/university, or by offering vocational training in shortage occupations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a mathematics teacher, we are looking for you to work collaboratively with the team, plan, implement, develop teaching, and follow up on students' learning and progress in accordance with the curriculum for adult education to promote students' learning and achieve good goal fulfillment.

The position involves teaching a heterogeneous target group where students' needs, study backgrounds, and language prerequisites vary, which places high demands on flexibility and individual adaptation. You have experience in planning and conducting teaching and subsequently following up with the required documentation. You are well-versed in the governing documents for Mathematics at the basic and upper secondary levels.

You actively participate in the organization's development work, attend meetings, conferences, and professional development, and collaborate with your colleagues and school management on common tasks that are constantly present in the teaching profession. You are part of a working team and a subject team where you collaborate with colleagues. You use digital teaching materials and other digital tools as a natural part of your teaching.

We are looking for a teacher who has a good ability to motivate and inspire students and create new opportunities for them.

QUALIFICATIONS

A requirement for the position is that you have a pedagogical education and teaching certification in mathematics at the basic level (3045 credits in mathematics). It is advantageous if you have qualifications at the upper secondary level (90 credits in mathematics). You have experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating mathematics teaching, as well as a good understanding of the governing documents within the subject. Excellent knowledge of mathematics is a requirement. You should be accustomed to using digital tools and Office 365, as digitalization is an important part of teaching. Experience working with learning platforms is also necessary to support students' development and preparation for further studies or working life.

Knowledge of the target group's support needs is also required, as teaching takes place in a heterogeneous group with varying levels of knowledge.

For the position, excellent oral and written skills in Swedish and English are required. Oral and written skills in other languages are advantageous but not mandatory for the position. These qualifications can be an asset depending on the needs of the organization.
