Job Advertisement: Teacher in After-School Care

Gruvrisskolan is one of the largest F-6 schools in Falun, located in the nature-friendly district of Galgberget. Approximately 500 students attend the school, with nearly 300 of them enrolled in our after-school care departments. Galgberget is a part of Falun where new villas and apartment buildings are being constructed. The school has a beautiful outdoor environment and excellent facilities, with a staff group that is highly motivated to develop the operations.

At Gruvrisskolan, the team culture is strong, and after-school care staff work alongside teachers in elementary school and preschool classes in grade-specific teams. Here, students are at the center, and our collaboration to ensure their success is crucial to us. Our quality work places a strong focus on health and safety, and the school has a well-developed recess system aimed at creating security and daily movement.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher in after-school care, you have the ultimate responsibility for planning and implementing the after-school care activities based on our applicable governing documents, primarily within your own team but also for the after-school care operations at Gruvrisskolan as a whole.

During school hours, you collaborate with teachers in preschool/elementary school, focusing on the needs of the students.

Qualifications

The role requires:

• Teaching certification with authorization to teach in after-school care or preschool/elementary school.

We are looking for someone who can see the big picture and prioritize based on current conditions. You are a problem solver who uses your knowledge flexibly. You also adapt easily to new circumstances and can take initiative. Most importantly, you are good at collaborating towards common goals.

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous experience in teaching (e.g., in after-school care, preschool, preschool class, or elementary school)
• Good knowledge of working with students in need of adjustments and special support

Employment Conditions

Full-time. Seasonal position. Start date August 4 or by agreement.
