Fryshuset enables young people to change the world through their passions. We create communities where young people are seen, heard, and counted. On this basis, we run around 60 different activities in several locations across Sweden. We have about 730 employees and work in the areas of education, youth culture, work & entrepreneurship, and role models & future beliefs. Fryshuset's activities range from culture and entertainment to projects that directly address the most challenging social problems of our time. We believe that everyone can succeed and deserves a second chance. The Fryshuset Foundation is a non-profit organization that is religiously and politically independent.
Our Operations
FRYSHUSET is a non-profit foundation that has existed since 1984. We are a youth center for education, youth culture, work and entrepreneurship, and social activities. We operate high schools, compulsory schools, folk high schools, and vocational training in Dance. We are located in Stockholm, Helsingborg, Gothenburg, Malmö, Karlskrona, and Småland/Öland. We have over 600 employees and generate approximately 400 million SEK in revenue. At Fryshuset, we work to change the world. Each year, we meet nearly 150,000 young people who receive support and opportunities to develop, find their identity, and feel included in society. Our employees are one of our greatest strengths, and we are incredibly proud of the diversity, competence, and drive within our organization.
We are currently seeking a social pedagogue for our operations within the introductory programs.
About Us
Fryshuset Gymnasium has over 1000 students and 100 educators distributed across five national programs and four variants of introductory programs, special educational profile (AST), and upper secondary special school. The school is organized into four pedagogical units, each with its program director and a principal leading the overall operations. Each work team is led by development leaders.
To create the best possible conditions for students to develop knowledge, skills, and values, we work at the high school based on a shared understanding of the mission: our holistic idea. Central themes in this include that we, with a positive view of students, always start from the student in planning and implementing teaching and in our interactions. The work teams are very autonomous, so it is very important that you can participate and work in a team where you see responsibility as authority and an opportunity for local school development.
Job Description
The position involves being a social pedagogue in the IM work team, which focuses on the school's students who are enrolled in the introductory programs. The introductory programs aim to provide students with the qualifications to apply for national programs, folk high schools, jobs, or other education.
The position means that you, together with your social pedagogue colleague, will support students during lessons, between lessons, and assist students in transitions throughout the school day, as well as being a bridge between home and school. You work to promote social training among students. You are also an important part of the work team's student health efforts. You are a piece of the puzzle in both preventive and promoting work as well as in the remedial work that is sometimes needed for our students to succeed in their academic achievements.
The students in our introductory programs face various challenges, many of which fall within the NPF spectrum. This means that you need to be competent and flexible to meet each student based on their individual circumstances.
About You
You are an educated social pedagogue or have a similar educational background. You have experience working with heterogeneous student groups and have a clear, present, and relational working style. You see students where they are and strive to create an accessible school day that is purposeful for the students. Knowledge of the NPF spectrum is an advantage.
