Security Coordinator at Chalmers

Chalmers is strengthening its security function with an additional security coordinator. We are looking for an experienced and committed security coordinator whose task is to develop and drive our work with physical security.

The security function currently includes a security manager and security coordinators, and you will be an important colleague with special responsibility for the operational and strategic work within physical security. The role is directly subordinate to the security manager whose area of operation spans the entire Chalmers.

Your role will be to drive and coordinate the systematic, strategic, and operational work within physical security. In addition, you will also be engaged in the security function's other areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Developing governing documents, routines, and processes to assist the organization.
• Monitoring and evaluating compliance with governing documents.
• Providing advice and support in the area of security.
• Managing security incidents and working proactively to prevent risks.
• Initiating and project-managing projects within all areas of the security function.
• Planning and conducting training and information initiatives.
• Developing and implementing strategies, routines, and processes within physical security.
• Conducting various forms of analysis in the area for identifying risks, threats, and security levels.
• Collaborating with relevant stakeholders in the security field.

We are looking for a flexible, proactive, and relationship-building person with strategic and problem-solving abilities. You thrive in both operational and strategic tasks, can create clear processes and structures, and handle changes quickly. High integrity and good judgment are important.

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, we believe you have:

• Relevant education in security.
• Extensive experience in security work, generally, but specifically within physical security.
• Good knowledge of technical and mechanical security as well as surveillance.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, standards, and guidelines within the area of physical security.
• Knowledge of the Security Protection Act and associated regulations and guidelines.
• Experience in leading and coordinating qualified security work in complex organizations with both internal and external partners.

It is particularly meritorious if you:

• Have experience in higher education.

The position requires that you:

• Master both Swedish and English well.
• Have a driving license with category B.

Information about the department

The security function, where the position is located, is part of Chalmers' central operational support that provides support to the entire organization based on the needs and requirements of education, research, utilization, and university management from authorities.

Employment form

Permanent full-time employment. This position includes a security clearance as part of the recruitment process.
