Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions

We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

Västertorpsskolan is a F-6 school with approximately 460 students.

From the autumn term of 2025, the school will start a Central Special Education Group (CSU) for 24 students. The school is a multicultural school with proximity to a beautiful environment and to Stockholm city. We are looking for someone who wants to help start a program for students who need extra support to succeed socially and academically. At the school, we work with a value foundation that we summarize under the concept HEARTS (Health, Empathy, Calmness, Respect, Safety, and Cooperation).

We offer

We offer you the opportunity to help build a fantastic program for students who require that little extra. You will be involved in creating environments, programs, and building a team around the students to provide the best possible conditions for success. The city of Stockholm offers a generous wellness allowance, and we provide guidance and professional development at the school.

Your role

As a teacher in the leisure center of the school's CSU, you will be responsible for supporting students in their daily activities during school and leisure time.

  • You collaborate with the teacher and assist students and teachers with schoolwork.
  • You plan and implement leisure activities together with the childcare workers in the team.
  • You work with the student's entire school day and strive to prevent and promote the student's well-being.
  • You build relationships with both students and guardians.

Your qualifications and experience

  • You must be an educated and certified teacher for leisure centers.
  • You should have experience working with students in special education or adapted primary school.
  • You need to be flexible and solution-oriented as the students' daily condition influences how the day unfolds. Therefore, you need to be creative and focused on finding solutions together with the team and the student.
  • You should be highly stress-resistant.
  • You must be skilled at building relationships with students as well as with their guardians.
  • It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the TEACCH communication method.
  • You need to have excellent Swedish in both spoken and written form to avoid communication misunderstandings with students.
  • You should be a clear leader who is still adaptable to the students' behaviors and needs. It is extremely important that you enjoy working in a team and are a team member who is loyal to the decisions made in the team for the development work around the students.
  • It is very important that you have a commitment to help students succeed both socially and academically.

The city of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills and thus counteracting discrimination.
