JOB DESCRIPTION

As a probation officer, you can contribute to a safer society. You will work in a team alongside other probation officers and collaborate closely with probation inspectors and administrators. Your tasks will include monitoring the execution of sentences with electronic control through home visits and workplace visits, being on standby for electronic control executions, community service checks, as well as ensuring secure entry at the probation office and staffing the reception. Other security-related tasks may also occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

The role demands high personal suitability. As a probation officer, you need to be secure, stable, have good judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the operations, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be clear in your communication. You should be attentive and accommodating in your interactions and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others while striving to deliver solutions.

It is important that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You should also be aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, your approach is expected to contribute to everyone being treated equally. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education or equivalent education combined with work experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Work experience, including seasonal work, temporary employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Good computer skills
• Driver's license (manual transmission)

It is an advantage if you have:

• Relevant work experience in one or more of the areas of social care, psychiatry, health and social care, or security work.
• Relevant language skills

OTHER

We have high demands on our employees' awareness of security and confidentiality. To work with us, you need to undergo a security screening in accordance with the Security Protection Act. For this position, a security screening interview will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security screening, your personal background and relationships will be investigated from a security perspective. You will receive more information about the security screening during your job interview.
