Kriminalvården is Growing – Security Officer Wanted

Kriminalvården is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding to our operations, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, community service, remand facilities, and client transport.

One of the areas of operation for Kriminalvården in the western region is Mariestad, which includes the closed prison Johannesberg, the open prison Rödjan, and the Mariestad Remand Facility. Currently, Mariestad has about 360 employees distributed across various professional categories and competencies, but with new constructions, we are seeking new staff to staff both Sweden's largest open prison and an upcoming new closed prison.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Security Officer has a central role in the security organization of the operations and is responsible for ensuring compliance, monitoring, and analyzing daily security work as well as incidents that occur. The role involves independent work in producing analyses and forecasts to develop security work according to applicable regulations. You assist the organization with decision-making support through, for example, risk and vulnerability analyses, incident investigations, and environmental analysis. The position includes quality assurance and revisions of local regulations, as well as responsibility for the prison's drug work and coordination of training plans.

The role involves collaboration with managers, on-duty officers, and other employees with security assignments.

The Security Officer also works closely with the service technicians of the prisons and remand facility regarding the security technology in place. Additionally, collaboration with the security department at the headquarters and with other actors within the justice chain, such as the police authority, is included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with previous experience in security work who enjoys developing routines and working methods. As a person, you are pedagogical, have good collaboration skills, and are clear in your communication. Furthermore, you are analytical, structured, and can plan and prioritize your work effectively. To succeed in this role, you need to be confident, responsible, and have a positive attitude.

You have good computer skills and should ideally have a technical interest. We also prefer that you have practical experience in areas such as training, education, and risk and safety assessments.

Requirements

• Work experience within Kriminalvården
• Completed and approved Kriminalvården training (basic training)
• Experience in security work
• Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• Driver's license B
• Good IT skills

Meritorious

• Post-secondary education in security.
• Instructor training from Kriminalvården or another authority
• Experience in investigative work.
• Experience in areas such as systematic fire protection work, information security, technical/physical security, and creating instructions and routines.

OTHER
