Are you a trained chemist, chemical engineer, or pharmacist, and are you looking for a workplace that offers challenges, joy, and security within a highly competent team?

Welcome to us at the Occupational and Environmental Dermatology Clinic.

About Us

We are a regionally specialized unit focusing on the investigation of occupational and environmental eczema. Our work focuses particularly on identifying suspected contact allergies through patch testing.

The team consists of four employees with specialized competence in occupational and environmental dermatology.

The unit includes specialist doctors, resident doctors, occupational hygienists, and biomedical analysts.

A central part of our mission is to conduct patient consultations in close collaboration with doctors. The investigation process includes performing patch tests, as well as mapping and analyzing exposure to suspected contact allergens in the patient's environment. If necessary, we also conduct workplace visits.

The unit also includes research and development work aimed at improving diagnostics, treatment, and preventive measures in the field.

Job Responsibilities

You will work both independently and in a team. The responsibilities include exposure investigations before and/or after patch testing, which involves interviewing the patient, reviewing product documentation, contacting companies, and preparing test preparations based on the patient's own materials. Additionally, you will participate in test readings, perform patch tests, and create patient information regarding contact allergens.

The occupational hygienist is also responsible for planning workplace visits and monitoring legislation and regulations regarding exposure and contact allergies. You will have an advisory role in the procurement of, for example, chemicals, gloves, ostomy bags, and more. The role also includes serving as the environmental representative for the unit, answering environmental questions from departments, and conducting chemical inventories.

The position is full-time and permanent, located at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. Working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday.

About You

We are looking for you who have a university education as a chemist, chemical engineer, or pharmacist, and have a few years of professional experience. Knowledge or experience in research, toxicology, and/or occupational health and safety issues is considered an advantage.

You thrive with varied tasks and enjoy working both independently and in a team. You are meticulous, flexible, driven, and curious to learn new things. Since the work involves significant patient contact, it is important that you enjoy working with people.

Personal suitability will be given great weight.

We warmly welcome your application!
