The Education Department is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, together creating a safe and developmental school and childcare environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ystad Municipality is now looking for a School Psychologist for the central Child and Student Health Service. The central Child and Student Health Service is a strategic and operationally close support function within the Education Department. Here, professionals with different competencies work together to strengthen children and students' learning, development, health, and goal achievement.
In the role of School Psychologist, you will become part of a well-established and collegial organization with psychologist colleagues, centrally placed special educators, and school coordinators. Together, you form a qualified support for the municipality's educational activities.
Ystad Municipality works based on "Backa Barnet" (The Backa Child), a collaboration model aimed at ensuring that children and young people receive the right support at the right time. The model is based on early interventions, collaboration between different activities, and a shared responsibility regarding the child's entire life situation. The School Psychologist plays an important role in this work by contributing psychological competence, a holistic perspective, and collaboration regarding children and students who need support.
As a School Psychologist in Ystad Municipality, you work primarily health-promoting and preventive together with the school's student health team and principal. You contribute psychological competence in matters concerning learning, development, mental health, and school attendance.
The assignment includes among other things:
- Contribute to the development of the school's student health work and accessible learning environments
- Provide consultation, supervision, and support to school leadership and staff in psychological issues
- Conduct training and competence development initiatives for staff
- Participate in the student health team's work and contribute psychological perspectives to the school's systematic quality work
- Conduct psychological assessments, investigations, and aptitude tests as needed
- Conduct group activities as needed
- Support the school's work with attendance-promoting measures and early interventions
- Contribute to work regarding students with neuropsychiatric disabilities and other support needs
- Collaborate with guardians and external actors such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), social services, healthcare, and other collaboration partners
- Contribute to the municipality's work according to Backa Barnet to ensure early, coordinated, and effective interventions for children and young people
- Be a qualified operational support in matters concerning the development, learning, and mental health of children and students.

QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed psychologist and previous experience from school operations is meritorious.
Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-01.
Working hours: Daytime.
