About the Department

The mission of Child Psychiatry involves specialized child and adolescent psychiatry for patients up to 18 years of age. The Child Psychiatry area in Helsingborg, which includes clinics in Helsingborg, Ängelholm, and Landskrona, provides outpatient care in the form of clinics and day-care psychiatry. Within day-care psychiatry, infant services and intermediate care for children between 0 and 18 years are included. Inpatient care is located in Malmö.

At the intermediate care unit, we work from a family perspective and adapt treatment according to the needs of the patient and family. Based on these needs, we offer both individual contacts and family work. The work environment is highly valued, and we cherish good camaraderie. In addition to a pleasant and exciting workplace, we offer you mentorship with an experienced therapist. At our department, everyone has a stable and shared value base to stand on. You work together with other professional categories regarding your cases.

As a nurse here, you work both individually and with other employees at the unit. Together, you collaborate and plan interventions to offer our patients the best possible care. Responsibilities include, among other things, medication follow-ups, assessment, investigation, psychoeducation, and individually adapted treatments for children, adolescents, and their relatives. There are often significant psychosocial strains within the family. A key part of the work is coordinating care for the patient both within CAP and with other actors such as schools, social services, and habilitation services. As a nurse here, you make independent assessments of patients needing medical follow-up in close collaboration with doctors and other colleagues. Our next initiative is to implement the FACT model, and we would be glad if you wanted to be part of this.

Intermediate care is a mobile operation, meaning work takes place both at the clinic, in the children's homes, and in their immediate surroundings. Since intermediate care works with patients with complex child psychiatric problems as well as eating disorders, there are various treatment models. The work as a nurse is focused on child psychiatric treatment with medical competence. Furthermore, it is challenging, stimulating, and varied, offering the opportunity to work creatively with children and young people based on all diagnoses within child psychiatry.

We welcome and strive to meet your interest in further education for personal development in work and offer, in addition to mentorship during the introduction phase, ongoing supervision.

Your working hours are scheduled during daytime from 08:00 to 16:30.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. We would prefer if you have specialized training in psychiatry or child and adolescent care. Proficiency in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. Since travel occurs in the position, you need to have a valid B-driver's license. Experience in child psychiatry, eating disorders, and/or family work with a psychosocial perspective is meritorious, as is other relevant and complementary competence such as therapist training, CBT, or similar.

You who apply have the patient in focus, a salutogenic view with good communication and collaboration skills. Work at intermediate care presupposes that you can think and work flexibly and handle emotionally stressful situations. You are also responsible and interested in working creatively with patients with complicated psychiatric problems and complex life and family situations. As a person, you are stable, initiative-taking, and enjoy working both individually and in teams. You also have a good ability to structure and organize your work. Furthermore, we value that you, just like us, see good treatment towards both colleagues and patients and relatives as a matter of course. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
