Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a special needs teacher who is interested in a new assignment with us at Munkhätteskolan!

At Munkhätteskolan, student health work is the responsibility of the entire school, aimed at creating "Every Student's Best School". Through various forums, you are responsible for the important work of creating accessible learning environments for all students at the school. This position focuses primarily on grades 4–6.

You support teachers in their work with the aim of identifying students' needs and organizing instruction that meets all students' requirements. We strive for good collaboration where student health professionals and teachers have the opportunity to work together regarding leadership, stimulation, and support measures. You are responsible for and develop the work with support measures in close cooperation with the work teams. You also conduct further training based on the school's systematic quality work.

You plan and carry out instruction, mapping, guidance, and observations based on needs at the individual and group levels. You are responsible for the process regarding special support, the associated documentation, as well as follow-up and evaluation.

Qualifications

You, the applicant, hold a degree in special needs education. Previous experience working as a primary and secondary school teacher is a requirement. Previous experience working as a special needs teacher or special educator is considered an asset.

You have insight and knowledge in school development and understand the school's governing documents, which you can apply in your daily work. You have acquired knowledge and experience in guidance/further training, student health work, and working with documentation, pedagogical investigations, extra adaptations, and special support/action plans.

You possess strong didactic and pedagogical skills, enabling you to lead and organize work directed at the student(s) to create a calm study environment and a good learning atmosphere throughout the day. Based on evidence-based research, we expect you to be able to develop your work, and we want you to be familiar with and knowledgeable about working with relevant digital tools. Naturally, you have a professional approach and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

Munkhätteskolan is a grades F–9 compulsory school and a grades 1–9 adapted compulsory school with a total of 650 students. The focus of our work lies in prevention and health promotion, as well as clear routines and processes in remedial actions. Student health work at our school begins in the classroom. We have a well-functioning structure and work based on organization/group and individual levels. Student meetings are an important forum where work teams, school leadership, and student health professionals meet with the aim of illuminating challenges and planning interventions through collaboration between different competencies and professions. Student health work is part of the school's systematic quality work.
